Coal Creek

Updated: Nov 13, 2021

Coal Creek is a staple course located about an hour away from the city of Edmonton. This hidden gem is built on the reminisce of an old coal mine in the middle of nowhere, you'll find only the truest of golf enthusiasts here. Designed with a mix of traditional and links style architecture this course will test all aspects of your game. With little to no trees lining the fairways, and miles and miles of open fields your biggest challenge will be mother earth and the elements. Its rare to find yourself hitting a true yardage here and I've personally had the pleasure of playing in 75km winds. The extremely fun course design is accompanied with probably the best manicured conditions I've ever played. Every fairway cut diagonally with precision and care, every bunker perfectly kept without a single blade of grass out of place, and did I mention the signature black sand! There are several reachable par 4s on the course that will test your accuracy, taking the aggressive play leaves you avoiding long overgrown fescue or a sea of black bunkers. This course is one of the staples in our golf season and find ourselves making the trek there several times a year!
